I love making dinner in my slow cooker. It is so much easier than having to cook dinner when I get home somewhat late from work. I found ribs on sale a couple of weeks ago and bought them as a treat for Rob. I have to say that I am growing to love them too! Today I wanted a recipe that involved very little preparation and one that didn't require me to purchase new ingredients that aren't already in my pantry. Specifically, I wanted to use up the last bits of two types of BBQ sauce which have been lurking in the corners of my refrigerator. I found one on about.com that was perfect!
The only changes I made to this recipe was that I didn't bother peeling the apples first and that I used regular pork ribs (not boneless country style ribs, to be honest I don't even know what those are). It turned out amazing! I used a bit of a PC Hot & Spicy BBQ sauce and the rest was just plain Kraft BBQ sauce. These ribs reminded both of us of restaurant ribs but at a fraction of restaurant price so they will be a keeper for sure! We had them with mashed potatoes and California mixed veggies.
